Paris Salons

Kacey’s art journey is inextricably linked to Paris. It is a incredible source of inspiration and platform where she built new friendships with countless like-minded individuals. With the ongoing support & recognition from distinguished selection panels, Kacey has returned to each of these major salons year after year since she first participated and was shortlisted for Salon des Beaux Arts in 2021. Each year, she comes back eagerly to be part of the creative dialogue and intellectual discourse that happens at these historic halls where great artists once stood.

Le Salon d’Automne 2024

The Salon d’Automne was created in 1903, in Paris, and held every fall. It was established to fight against a powerful academicism that existed at that time. It was also an alternative to the Salon des Indépendants. Over the last 100 years, its exhibitors have been witnesses of the emergence of the most important artistic movements of the century including : Fauvism, Surrealism, Cubism, Abstract art, New Figuration and Singular Art.

The founders of the Salon d’Automne were a group of artists and poets that included Eugène Carrière, Pierre-Auguste Renoir, Georges Rouault, Édouard Vuillard, Joris-Karl Huysmans, and Émile Verhaeren, under the leadership of the architect Frantz Jourdain. They decided to form their own organization with the aims of welcoming any artist who wished to join, selecting a jury for exhibitions by drawing straws from the new group’s membership, and giving the decorative arts the same respect accorded the fine arts.

Salon des Indépendants (Art Capital)

Art Capital is an annual spring exhibition, endorsed by the French Ministry of Culture, and held at the historic Grand Palais in Paris, France. Kacey has been selected to return at this major show every year since she first took part in 2023.

The exhibition was born in 2006 from the initiative of the so-called "Historic Grand Palais" Salons, which brings together 4 major art fairs including the historic Salon des Independants. Created in 1884, it celebrated its 140th anniversary in 2024. It was called the « Salon des Refusés » because the artists taking part challenged the codes and principles of academic painting. What a victory it was for this Salon, whose name was not the flattering one it used to be, to have freely exhibited the greatest names from all the schools, whose painters today ensure the glory of the great museums of Modern Art. Its slogan remains: « No jury, no prize ».

Salon des Beaux Arts

Date: 22 September - 4 October 2022

Venue: Orangerie du Senat, Paris , France

Created in 1862, by artists for artists, the vocation of the Salon is to support the creation to highlight talents and allow the ’envol of emerging’ artists. The Salon is thus a unique support for creation and an indispensable platform allowing talents to assert their independence and freedom. It is also the first Salon to have hosted foreign artists (Brancusi, Foujita or Zao Wou-Ki) and the female artists (Suzanne Valadon, Pan Yuliang, Camille Claudel).

Kacey was selected out of 4000+ submissions & nominated to represent China to exhibit in Paris by a jury of 35 curators & industry veterans including Ms. Catherine Sévérac (President of the Painting Section, Vice-President of SNBA). Established by the National Society of Fine Arts (SNBA), Salon Des Beaux Arts celebrated its 160th year since 1862. This marks Kacey’s salon debut & played a key role in supporting Kacey’s early art journey. The opening was presided by Mr. Michael King (President of Société nationale des Beaux Arts) and Ambassador Chen Li (Peoples Republic of China to France) 中國駐法國大使館公使陳力.
